Day 1: Arrival in Iceland
You arrive in Iceland and travel independently from the airport to your hotel in Reykjavík (or with an optional transfer offered by us).
Day 2: Blue Lagoon Tour
Afternoon transfer to the famous Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is located in a sprawling, 800-year-old lava field in the heart of the Reykjanes Peninsula – a UNESCO Geopark. The spa site is on the National Geographic list of 25 wonders of the world, claiming it is a geothermal gift of nature.
The Lagoon is famous for its ethereal milky-blue waters. Remaining at 39°C all year round, the waters are rich in silica and minerals. Soak in the Lagoon, slather on a silica mud mask and enjoy the complimentary drink at the swim-up bar.
Day 3: The Golden Circle Tour
Starting from Reykjavik, the tour first visits Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its geological significance and historical importance as the site of Iceland's first parliament. Here, visitors can explore the dramatic rift valley where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet.
Next, the tour moves to the geothermal area in Haukadalur, home to the famous geysers, including Geysir and Strokkur. Strokkur, which erupts every few minutes, offers an exhilarating spectacle as it spouts boiling water up to 30 meters into the air.
The final major stop is the magnificent Gullfoss, or "Golden Falls," where visitors can marvel at the powerful glacial river plunging into a deep canyon, creating a stunning double waterfall. The beauty of Gullfoss is particularly striking, with rainbows often visible on sunny days.
Day 4: South Shore Tour
On this day, we will enjoy a ride along the south coast of Iceland. This coastal road offers views of glacier tongues, waterfalls, rugged hills, black sand beaches, and its famous volcanoes.
We travel to Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, with a height of 60 m. You can walk behind the waterfall but dress well, as the water mist behind the waterfall can make you wet. Next, we admire the majestic Skógafoss Waterfall. It is one of the most powerful waterfalls in the country, 60 m high and 25 m wide. Due to the amount of spray the waterfall consistently produces, a single or double rainbow is usually visible on sunny days.
Next, we stop by the black sand beach at Reynisfjara to view the geological formation and the smashing waves. Be careful not to step too close as the waves can be dangerous. Before heading back to Reykjavík, we visit Vík í Mýrdal, a seafront village that sits in the shadow of Mýrdalsjökull glacier, which covers the Katla volcano.
Day 5: Whale Watching Tour
Explore the whales of Reykjavík under the excellent guidance of marine biologist guides and learn all about the incredible wildlife that call Iceland their home. The bay is even full of birdlife, from puffins and gannets to guillemots and more, that actively feed on the plentiful fish found in the bay. Magnificent landscapes surround the area and add a unique contrast to the vast ocean, where the spectacular views on the horizon are certainly not to be missed.
You board the whale watching boat through the Visitor Centre, where you will find several outdoor viewing platforms, a heated indoor saloon with large viewing windows, a cafeteria where you can buy light refreshments, toilet facilities and a cloak room where you can borrow our blankets and overalls for the duration of the tour. You can stay outside in the fresh air but you are also welcome to settle inside the heated lounge and observe from within.
